Theresa Weber

Theresa Weber currently lives and works between Cologne and London. Through material collage, textile installation and collaborative performance, the artist investigates the global nexus of connections and the nature of hybridity.

From her perspective as an artist with Jamaican, German and Greek background, she investigates Caribbean discourse, ancient mythologies and historical research. Her research is mainly represented through fragmentary maps and textile landscapes or costumes, exemplifying the cyclical transformation of nature and culture. The volumetric surfaces of her works inhabit rituals imbedded in crafts and the material memory of each object.
